Congratulations! You have worked really hard and finally have a handful of subscribers on your email list.
It is now time for you to impress their socks off! Many entrepreneurs focus on growing their list, but neglect engaging their new subscribers. Your list is only valuable if your subscribers are engaged and care about what you have to say.
A well-nurtured email list will improve your open rates and sales conversion rates. Today, I will talk about 7 list building engagement tips that you can use and implement this week to impress your subscribers.
1. Resource Library
A resource library gives your new subscriber a centralized place to discover all your freebies at once. If you’ve been in business for awhile, you most likely have multiple lead magnets and content upgrades floating around the internet.
By making all your freebies easily accessible, your new subscribers can consume the materials they need from you, at their own pace. From personal experience, my resource library is one of the most visited pages on my blog. This is because my subscribers are returning to my resource library again and again to make use of the resources there.
When a new subscriber discovers your resource library and sees all those amazing resources that you have available, they are more likely to remember you and be impressed by the amount of free value that you are offering them.
2. Well-designed, unannounced freebies
Sending your new subscriber an unannounced freebie will help her feel extra special. You want your subscribers to feel like a VIP, so constantly give them surprises and over-deliver.
One caveat, though: If you are going to send out a freebie, make it a good one. Besides offering great value, you should also strive to have a well-designed freebie. People judge based on appearances, so you want to put your best foot forward!

3. Personal Stories
Words tell, stories sell. People receive a ton of emails daily, and you want to be the person that they love hearing from.
Telling stories humanizes you. Your subscribers start seeing you as a friend. They look forward to hearing from you. Most importantly, they open your emails and engage with them.
4. Success Stories and Testimonials
Are you looking to impress your subscribers? Show them exactly how you can transform their lives. The best way you can do this is to show that you have helped someone just like them achieve the results they want.
This will increase your credibility and establish you as an expert in your subscriber’s eyes. It also leads to more sales if you are launching a new product or service to your email list.
5. Indoctrination Series
New subscribers do not know you yet, and require special attention from you.
They need to know more about you and what you have to offer before they can trust you. You do not want to send your new subscribers the same emails you send to your entire list. For instance, sending a sales pitch to someone who has just joined your list is a huge turn-off.
The solution? Have an automated follow-up sequence that will be dripped to all new subscribers. This automates the “indoctrination” process for you, allowing you to send new subscribers content specially customized for them. When they have finished the indoctrination series, they can then be added to your main newsletter.

6. Tease Them in the P.S Section
Want your subscribers to click to complete a certain call-to-action? Repeat your call-to-action by adding a P.S section and placing your call-to-action there.
Here is an example, where Marianne used the P.S section to get more purchases for the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit in her latest email:
Most subscribers skim through your emails, so repeating your call-to-action at the P.S section will improve your click-through rates as people have another chance to read your call-to-action.
7. Exclusive Previews of Your Paid Course
A great way to treat your subscribers like VIPs is to give them subscriber-only access to small parts of your paid course. A paid course has a higher perceived value than freebies, so giving new subscribers previews to your paid course will be viewed favorably.
Importantly, previews of your paid course will also help to boost sales for your paid courses. You want them to feel like they got massive value out of the preview, yet give them just enough to want more of the content so that they will be more likely to purchase from you.
When done right, sneak previews give your subscribers amazing value and make them want to purchase your paid course to see all the good stuff that you have in it.
It’s time to engage your email list!
We’ve covered quite a few list building engagement tips in this post, and you have everything you need to start impressing your new subscribers.
What is one thing you can do to engage your email list? Tell me in the comments below!

Hey Marianne,
When people subscribe to our email list they expect something new, authentic and highly useful, even if we are talking about a shopping newsletter.
We should try to use words that stand out, need to write like we are talking with our best friend and act like we are performing a show with each email campaign.
Nothing speaks out more than a brand that is authentic, close and unique in its own way. Good email marketing is totally about sending high quality content to a list of people who have chosen to receive content from us. Eventually, thanks for sharing your thought with us.
With best wishes,
Amar kumar
