1 Strategy Session

The week before your Nine2Live workday, we’ll touch base to make sure I know everything you need and want is represented on your site.

1 Virtual 8-hr day with me

From 9am til it’s live!* We’ll work together virtually throughout the day to build a blog that serves your goals and has a design that you’ll love!

15 days post support

After we go live, you’ll have email access to me for a full 15 days to get familiar with your site, ask questions, and troubleshoot any issues.

*Going live at the end of the workday is not guaranteed. Your site will go live as long as we can move quickly and not get stopped up on too many details and changes. Redesigns require a 2 day package.

step #1

pre-work workbooks

As soon as you make your payment in full, you'll receive instructions on how to access your client portal with your business & design workbooks. These workbooks guide you in completing the pre-work that's necessary before you can book your Workday with me.

What to expect:

The Business Workbook will help determine what your business needs and goals are
The Website Workbook will tell me everything you want on the website
The Page Content Workbook is where you'll provide all the copy you want for each page
A handy client checklist will help you keep track of everything you need to do

step #2

design inspiration

Once your workbooks are complete, you'll receive instructions on how to make an inspiration board that will help me see which design direction you'd like to go in.

What to expect:

You'll upload your logo and branding board (colors and fonts) if you have them
Otherwise, you'll create an inspiration board that shows me what styles, colors and fonts you are drawn to
You'll also send me some websites that inspire you and explain why they do
When that's all said and done, I'll send a link to schedule our strategy session

step #3

strategy Session

After you've chosen a design direction or two, we'll schedule our 1-hour strategy Zoom call where we will discuss your objectives, answer any questions, and develop our game plan for the design workday.

What to expect:

Before our call, I'll review all the pre-work you've submitted
During the call I will make sure that I know everything that you need and want is represented on your site
You'll have a chance to ask any questions you have at this time
Just before we end our call, we'll schedule your Design Workday!

step #4

Design Workday

Today is the day! We touch base in the morning around 9am EST and then I get to work creating your homepage. Throughout the day, I'll reach out to you for feedback to make sure I'm on the right track and hitting all the marks.

What to expect:

I'll start by designing the homepage first, then request your feedback and go from there
You'll need to make sure you are on-call throughout the entire workday so we can keep things moving along
Once the homepage is approved, I'll move on to the other pages and fill them in with your pre-submitted content
After everything is in, we'll test the site together to make sure everything is working properly
As long as we're able to finish, we will launch your new site to the world at the end of the day (5pm give or take)!*

*Going live at the end of the workday is not guaranteed. Your site will go live as long as we can move quickly and not get stopped up on too many details and changes.

step #5

Post-Launch Support

Congratulations on your launch! And since it's my goal to empower you with the skills that you need to manage your website on your own, if you're stuck on how to do something, just ask!

What to expect:

You will have 15 days to email or message me with any questions that you have about the work that I completed for you
You'll receive access to my video training library that will help you navigate and use your new website.
You'll also receive resources that will help you with next steps
In some cases, I may create a personalized video to walk you through how to do something specific on your website

Marianne is an excellent designer and very responsive. She spent extra time making sure everything worked properly, and even redid the site when we were having issues with pictures and pages loading. I enjoyed working with her, as we complimented each other well in choosing brand styles and the collaboration made it a better site.

FAQs

Why can you do this in a day when most web designers take at least a month or more to work on a website?

A few reasons: we avoid scope creep, bottlenecks and disorganization.

Scope Creep: when a project drags on and on with extra little changes a client wants to just add in here (this won’t take long, right?) Well unfortunately it adds up. And thus it adds to the timeline.

Solution: My system helps to eliminate scope creep so we can move quickly.

Bottleneck: when a client doesn’t get back to the designer in a timely fashion, or doesn’t submit everything the designer needs so that she can move on.

Solution: your completed pre-work is done up front BEFORE work even starts. And on the design workday, you are expected to be on-call with quick feedback to keep things moving.

Disorganization: Most web designers aren’t that organized, truth be told. They start every new project from scratch and fail to see that much of the work that goes into a website is the same from site to site.

Solution: I’ve created a system for automating the tasks that I do repeatedly. This cuts out an enormous amount of time from each project.

What You Can Expect From Me

A pre-workday strategy call & preparation

Following our day together, you will have 15 days to email or message me with any questions that you have about the work that I completed for you. It is my goal to empower you with the skills that you need to manage your website on your own, so if you’re stuck on how to do something, just ask! In some cases, I’ll create a personalized video to walk you through how to do something on your website.
Training Videos & Resources
Once your site is complete, you’ll receive access to my video library that will help you navigate and use your new website. In addition, you’ll receive access to Resources that will help you with next steps.

What You Should Not Expect From Me

A website on Squarespace, Blogger, Wix or platform other than WordPress.
A hosting plan. I highly recommend Siteground or Bluehost if you don’t have one already.
A custom domain (although you will receive a free one from Bluehost if you sign up with them).
A custom logo or brand design.
SEO (search engine optimization) work.
Email Service Provider set up.
Website copy written for you. If you need, I can recommend a professional copywriter.
Stock photo research.

What I Expect From You

All Prep Work completed (as outlined above)
Prep Work Complete Checklist initialed and signed
To be on-call for quick responses and feedback throughout the workday
All graphic files in high resolution formats
You should supply all graphic files (i.e. logos, illustrations) in an editable, vector digital format (.AI, .EPS, .AFDESIGN, etc.).
Any professional photos you supply should also be provided in high resolution .JPG files.
Search for your own stock photos
Searching for the perfect stock photo is very time-consuming and therefore not included in this package. I am happy to provide you with both free and paid resources for you to search. Photographs should be supplied in a high resolution digital format.
