Do you take courses to up your business game?
I sure do because I want my blog to be a business that affords me the freedom to work when I want and go where I want!
Could I learn everything I need to know about building a profitable blog by searching for it online?
Sure! If I knew everything I needed to search for and in what order to do them.
And that’s where the value of courses come in. A good course will take your hand and walk you step-by-step, start-to-finish in completing a goal you want for yourself.
So yeah, I take courses online and I’m proud to say it!
Today I want to talk about my experience with an AH-Mazing course I took last winter with the unparalleled Melyssa Griffin. (Formerly known as The Nectar Collective).
Her flagship course is called The Blog to Biz Hive and the reason I love this course so much is because I learned so many things I didn’t even know I was going to learn AND I even learned new things in topics I already thought I knew all about. Now THAT’S a good course, my friends!
This post does NOT contain affiliate links, I just really feel this strongly about the course.
So What Did I Learn?
Well let me give you a few examples.
Most of you know that not only have I been at this blogging thing for a few years now, but that I’ve also worked in the web industry for more than a decade. I’ve got 12k+ followers on Pinterest, 8k+ on Twitter and more than 8k members in my private Facebook group.
You would be right to think that I knew a helluva lot about SEO, content marketing, and growing traffic and lists. I mean, I didn’t just grow my email list to over 1200 subscribers in less than a year by luck!
So when I logged into The Blog to Biz Hive for the first time in January, I was a little disappointed to discover that the first 3 weeks were all about the basics: content marketing, growing traffic/SEO and growing an email list. That meant I was gonna have to wait 4 weeks for the good stuff!
Boy Was I Wrong!
I followed the video lessons anyway and was super pleased to learn that there was a lot of new information for me to learn! Things like:
- How to increase my content’s authority
- Determining the best keywords to target with my content
- What content to offer for free and what content to save for paid products (this is gold)
- A promotional schedule that works
- How to increase my Pinterest engagement
- How to create an onboarding email series for new subscribers
Then There’s the Good Stuff
As if the above wasn’t good already, by week 4 we got into the gooooooood stuff. You know, the stuff that helps you create a product (specifically an ecourse) that makes you money.
You’ll…
- Have tons of workbooks to help you really hash out what your course is going to look like
- Plan out your entire course from start to finish
- Find the right price for your course
- Learn how to market the heck out of your course with a full-on launch plan
- Receive complete tech trainings on several platform options: pick what’s best for you and your budget!
These last few modules are where the magic happens! You guys, I have never been so stoked about a course before and if I had to recommend just one course to anyone wanting to turn their blog into a money-making business, it would be this one.
How is Melyssa in the Course?
In short, AWESOME. This girl is legit. She knows her stuff. She’s walking proof of what she teaches AND she’s an awesome person to boot.
No smarmy, salesy teacher here, just a really nice girl showing you what she’s done herself to consistently have 5 figure launches. Melyssa was great throughout the entire course. She was active every day in the private Facebook group and even went so far as to make personalized videos for some of us to fully illustrate her answers when we had questions!
We were never left hanging, she always came through for us. She literally held our hands!
So… what do you think? Are you tired of spinning your wheels when it comes to building your blog? Are you ready to start making some money off that thing once and for all?
If you’re ready to share your message with the world, then I invite you to check out the Blog to Biz Hive. You won’t be disappointed.
I know you have questions for me, so please ask away below!

Hi Marianne! I subscribed to the course a few days ago and I’m SO EXCITED! I’ve already started going through the many bonus materials Melyssa provided and I’m having so many AHA moments it’s unbelievable. I can’t imagine how many I’m gonna have once the actual course starts! I joined one of Melyssa’s free webinars, and when I saw you were enrolled in the course (she showed your testimonial) I was like – wow that’s Marianne my design go to blogger! It had a big part in my decision as your blog is totally awesome! Btw CONGRATS on Costa Rica! I’m working toward my own Costa Rica thang and hoping I can do it better and faster with Blog to Biz Hive ! Love, Viv x http://stylecite.com
OMG that’s so awesome Vivian, thank you so much!! I am so honored (and humbled) to be your “design go to blogger!”
Yay for signing up for the course. It really is awesome and so great that you’ve already learned so much from it before it’s even started. I felt the same way.
So I’d love to hear more about your own Costa Rica thang! Tell me more!
I got your email today about this course and soooo didn’t want to read it because I’d already seen Melyssa’s pitches several times and was avoiding more of them! After all, I figured that there was a lot of crossover with her List Surge and Pinifinite Growth – 2 courses I already have but haven’t had the ability to work through yet – and I knew I could get ‘suckered’ into buying another course.
So, your email pops up and I read it because I dig your content. And it worked…so I actually took a look at the sales page and realized that Jenna Soard’s bonus, the networking opportunities, and the last three modules were worth the investment as I’m getting ready to launch a new Excel blog that I know is going to really rock. *Plus, I’m excited to get your book – when will I be getting it?! I 😉 *
I’m not sure what my point is other than to tell me that you convinced me to take the leap and further invest in my blog. So thanks (I think, lol!). Oh, and congrats on making Costa Rica work out – how freakin’ exciting is that?!
Oh haha Kristi, you crack me up! I’m sorry that you didn’t want to buy it, but I’m not sorry! I really don’t think you will be disappointed. I really found the course to be well worth it. The only reason I don’t have mine out yet is because this whole move is derailing everything at the moment, but good thing I have lifetime access, right? 🙂
Thanks for the well wishes on that too, we’re incredibly excited and I’m looking forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks!
I am excited for your new blog launch and can’t wait to see it. As for the book, I’ll send it to you as soon as the transaction comes through. I think Teachable takes a little while for that happen, but I’ll keep checking!
I know I won’t be disappointed 🙂 I saw that a few other gals in Melyssa’s group attributed their decision to you as well!
Life has a way of throwing curve balls at us, but it sounds like you are figuring everything out. I look forward to reading your upcoming posts! Just be sensitive to the fact that most of your readers aren’t living in a tropical paradise, lol 😉
I look forward to reading your book! Good luck getting your own course up.
Oh Kristi, you’re right. I will take care to be sensitive to that 🙂 Looking forward to seeing you in the course group!
I signed up for the course, I’m so excited about it! I was a bit nervous since it’s pretty pricey but I think it’ll be worth the investment!
That’s awesome Rachel! I know what you mean about the cost, but it is totally worth it!

This explosion in growth means more potential readers for our blog. If we’re part of a business, company or organization, our blog should be related to the product or service which we provide, or the cause we promote.
We should promote our eBooks before the creation process and it is most genuine process to get publicity for eBooks. This strategy is really effective for positive result many eBooks author develop eBooks in well furnished manner but they couldn’t get profit as they expect.
Good nature of strategy play vital role to get momentum in online marketing of any niche business. Building email list is most valuable for the promotion of our eBook. It really helpful to establishment of better relationship with our customers as well as audience. Amazon, E-junkie and clickbank are really best place for selling our eBooks.
Editing the posts with new ideas. Trends and interests of audience keep on changing with time. We need to add some interesting and new facts to our older posts and this will give new life to our existing content in the eyes of search engines as well. Eventually, thanks for sharing your worthy information with us.

Hi Marianne,
I’m launching a non-profit to bring free books to children & know nothing about blogs, e courses, etc. I found Melyssa’s course & hesitated to jump in, but your information enabled me to feel confident doing so. I can’t wait to receive your bonuses too!
I’m so glad you trust my opinion Bree and so glad you’re taking the leap! You will LalaaLOVE Melyssa’s course and I’m excited to give you your bonuses too!
So if I sign up for btbh here will I only get your bonuses and not melyssa’s ? Or will I get yours on top of hers?
Hi Scott, I’m so sorry I did not see your comment in time. For future reference, yes you would be getting all the bonuses (mine on top of hers).
