  • Thank you for making these videos. They are easy to follow along with and valuable lessons for someone who is not tech savvy.

  • Anxiously awaiting video #4 and the opportunity you hinted at! Fingers crossed it’s an ecourse. I love your Blog Beautiful ebook, but what I wouldn’t give to have you walk me through step by step with accountability and feedback so I can FINALLY move beyond tech-challenged paralysis and ditch the “Coming Soon” page! Thank you for these lovely videos; love how relatable you are!

Hi Meg, thank you so much, I unfortunately hit a small snafu and will be coming with video 4 soon with full explanation. Thanks so much for the kind words and apologies for the wait!

  • Love, Love Love this! Thank you! I am still getting ready to dump my coming soon page, and now it might actually happen. I’ve been so frustrated not being able to make my website look the way I want it to… until I found this series. I enjoy your videos AND I’m learning something. Thanks again!

  • Bev says:

love LOVE these videos. Does it matter where you actually put the code in your style sheet? Hopefully that question makes sense =)

    • Marianne says:

Hi Bev, yes that makes sense! It’s probably best to place it near the bottom of the style sheet so that it overrides any other styles. I’m so glad you love the videos, sorry about the delay on #4, it’s coming soon.

Where is Video #4?? Can’t wait to watch

  • Charlene says:

When I tried to get to #4 it looped me back to watch the 1st video. I had to take a break and prepare for my son to come home from deployment and now it looks like I’ve missed out 🙁

I really appreciate that you explained what HTML vs CSS really is- I asked a bunch of people and finally found one that said it shapes the way your website looks- but couldn’t tell me what the acronym was.

Currently I have a domain name- but it is not live or “on” anywhere except to exist as the name. I can’t tweak what isn’t live- I’ve been working on content, but overall am feeling very lost.

    • Marianne says:

Hi Charlene! You haven’t missed anything! Hopefully you received my email yesterday explaining what happened with video 4. 🙂 Getting the domain is a great start! Now you just need a platform to put your blog on. Have you checked out my platform comparison post yet? It should help point you in the right direction! https://designyourownblog.com/startablog

  • Thanks so much for these videos. Can’t wait for video 4. You really explain everything so well. Makes it super easy to understand.

  • Hali says:

Celebrating with a happy dance. THANK YOU. I have vague knowledge of CSS/HTML and until now, it felt like just “luck” getting anything to do what I was aiming for. And then, to remember what I just did, is another story! Any way, today was a big step for me and hope to play with buttons and opt-in forms soon…. again, thank you.

    • Marianne says:

That’s soooo cool to hear Hali and exactly what I was hoping people would get from this. It’s helpful to do it yourself and see it in action.

  • Virgie says:

What an amazing journey I am on SINCE I found your site. I am finding what I’ve dreamed of doing is ACTUALLY possible. Thank you.

  • Ashley says:

Thanks Marianne, this was really helpful! I took an HTML class a couple years ago, so I know the basics but these videos are far more effective then the class was!

  • Thanks so much, I really enjoy your teaching style. I am very comfortable with HTML but I’m just starting to learn CSS.
